Vacancy - Musical Director

Unfortunately our Musical Director Peter Smith has made the tough decision to step down from his role as MD for the Campbelltown City Band. His last concert will be the Red Shield joint Salvos concert on May 19th. As such, we are currently accepting applications for the role of Music Director, which will become vacant after May 19th, 2024.

Campbelltown City Band is a British-style Brass Band based in the city of Campbelltown, providing quality musical entertainment and musical development opportunities for our band members and the community.

We’re situated in the north-eastern suburbs of Adelaide – historically a corridor of long-standing and successful brass bands. The band room is situated in the Campbelltown Function Centre which is behind the Campbelltown Council Chambers at 172 Montacute Road Rostrevor.

2019 celebrated and commemorated 100 years of Brass banding within our community, with a fine legacy of entertainment and numerous wins on the competition stage. We are extremely proud to continue the tradition into the next century.

CCB has enjoyed much success over recent years on the concert stage under the direction of our musical director Peter Smith, thrilling audiences with a wide-ranging repertoire of music. Our membership today is drawn from a wide cross-section of the Adelaide community, from the young to the “not-so-young”. Rehearsals continue attracting solid numbers.

A key factor to our success is that we are both ‘friendly and enjoyable’ and that we strive to ensure that all are encouraged in their musical endeavours.

Council Support

Campbelltown City Band enjoys a high level of support from the Campbelltown City Council primarily for the training opportunities it provides for the community. The council have also been strong supporters of our free community concerts held at various times throughout the year, to which we are ever grateful and appreciative.
