We decided that our last free concert for the 2018 season would be an evening to celebrate the Spirit – and music – of Christmas.

It’s not often the band gets to host a concert while wearing tinsel and Santa hats, but when we do it’s like a Christmas miracle.  Swathes of red, green and white abound as far as the eye could see!

Our first piece of the evening ‘Angels We Have Heard On High‘ was a great start to the Christmas event, followed by the popular brass band classic ‘Christmas Crackers’ – a medley of Christmas tunes.

Jordan Belperio continued the Christmas spirit with a beautiful rendition of the Soprano Cornet solo ‘Little Lord Jesus‘.

Other pieces for the evening included ‘Christmas Swingalong’, ‘Sleigh Ride’, ‘White Christmas’ and ‘Jingle Bell Rock’.

After a full evening of Christmas music, it was an absolute blast to play the Hallelujah Chorus – from Handel’s Messiah – to a well appreciative audience.

Once the music was done, the band joined the audience and moved on to the main attraction, and the real reason everyone came – tea, coffee, scones and Christmas nibbles!

As always, thanks to the Campbelltown City Council for all their support throughout 2018.  We’re all looking forward to bringing more of these free concerts to the community in 2019!
