The final free community concert of the year was a huge success. The council provided an enormous chocolate cake complete with the band emblem, so perfectly reproduced that it seemed a shame to cut into it.

We played mainly Christmas music with Nat King Cole and Elvis adding variety and a party feeling. The twist, though, was that the audience chose the order of play. A successful raffle ticket allowed the owner to take a scroll from the tree, naming them as a winner or giving the title of the next song.

Music was followed by a sumptuous tea – and cake of course. What a fantastic afternoon! No-one wanted to leave.

Many congratulations to our two band members of the year – Brenton Brockhouse and Julie Dorey. And thanks to everyone who has helped the band in such an important – and busy – year. There are so many of you that it would be impossible to name everyone individually. Bands can’t exist without community support and we really appreciate our loyal audience.

We look forward to seeing you all again in 2020.
