Campbelltown City Band has announced the appointment of a Deputy Musical Director to assist MD Al Kidney. Al asked Chris Brockhouse, Solo Horn player in the band, to consider this role and he has accepted.
“While Chris has little conducting experience, his musical skills, youth and enthusiasm for brass bands made him an ideal choice” said Al when announcing Chris’s appointment.
Al Kidney, Bandmaster of the Band of the South Australian Police, will provide hands-on tuition and training for Chris.
Band President, Alison Thearle said that Chris has been an active member of the band for over 18 years and had earned the respect of all members who unanimously applauded his appointment.
