Beautiful weather brought a large number of people to the Thorndon Park Reserve for the festival “Campbelltown Celebrates” 2012.

Community groups had set up stalls to provide information about their activities along with just about every food provider in Campbelltown. It was promoted and sponsored by the Council as a fantastic family fun day full of live music, entertainment, creative exhibits and stalls, fun rides and activities for all ages. Judging by the large crowd in attendance this objective was well reached.

As part of the live music entertainment the Campbelltown City Band played a 30 minute slot in the afternoon. It was great to play to an appreciative audience who showed quite clearly that the old brass band favourites of stirring marches were still in high demand.

A young “Spider Man” marching up and down the lawn in front of the band added to the fun and spontaneity of the afternoon.
