For part two of this year’s State Band Championships, musicians from around our State took over the Brighton Secondary School facilities for a 2nd weekend – this time for the Solo and Party events.
A number of our braver members, still running high on adrenaline (not coffee this time) from our earlier success, ventured on stage, standing-alone, going head-to-head with our peers from other bands. Our success at this year’s Championships continued with an impressive 6 top 3 podium finishes from 9 sections. We were extremely fortunate to have the talented services of Beck Lucas and Harry Matear on piano as our accompanist’s – thank you guys very much appreciated. Photos courtesy Robbie Cowley.
